El examen de las imágenes grabadas a última hora de la tarde de este martes en los alrededores del polígono de bateas de Meloxo, muy próximo al mar abierto, será uno de los puntos cruciales para esclarecer lo ocurrido. Se ha confirmado que un barco bateeiro sin matrícula y sin actividad legal zarpó de la cara norte de la ría y que se hundió en el mencionado polígono, situado frente al conjunto escultórico de Punta Moreiras, con su sirena al frente, alrededor de las 18.30 horas. Entre una densa capa de niebla, la llegada de la noche y el temporal, se dieron condiciones ideales para pasar desapercibidos. Narcodiario recorrió todos esos puntos para verificar en directo las circunstancias de los acontecimientos y comunicarlas a sus lectores.

No es la primera ocasión en que se detecta un semisumergible realizando el viaje de ida y vuelta, aunque lo habitual es que se hundan tras haber entregado la carga, como sucedió con el de A Pobra en septiembre. No obstante, este periódico ya informó en exclusiva sobre un caso similar a mediados de 2025, cuando se avistó uno de estos dispositivos ya vacío, navegando de este a oeste, por la costa norte de España, en el Mar Cantábrico.

Después del naufragio, los servicios de Gardacostas de la Xunta de Galicia y Salvamento Marítimo rescataron a los tres individuos que lograron subirse a una de las bateas del polígono antes de que el Nuevo Irene –nombre del bateeiro– se hundiera. Estos individuos prestaron declaración ante la Guardia Civil y fueron liberados de forma provisional.

Paralelamente, durante la noche se movilizaron efectivos del Instituto Armado, de la Policía Nacional y de la Guardia Civil en el área, con el fin de intentar localizar al narcosubmarino que, según sospechas, permanece cerca de las costas gallegas con la intención de entregar su valiosa carga de cocaína.

Los GEAS, buzos especializados de la Guardia Civil, llevaron a cabo varias inmersiones en la zona en busca del barco hundido y de indicios del semisumergible. La búsqueda prosiguió este jueves.

La maniobra que intentaron llevar a cabo los tres individuos que fueron rescatados sobre una batea en el puerto de Meloxo, en O Grove, tras naufragar con su pesquero fue calificada como «completamente suicida» por diversos expertos consultados por este periódico.

En primer lugar, debido a la carga que transportaban, 12.000 litros de combustible, que podrían haber provocado una catástrofe medioambiental; y en segundo lugar, por la enorme dificultad que implica que un barco de tales características pueda cargar semejante peso, ya que no está diseñado para ello, y menos aún si al mando se encuentran personas sin la formación pertinente.

Además, las condiciones del momento, a oscuras y en medio de un temporal marítimo, complicaron aún más la situación, y los expertos aseguran que los tres tripulantes salvaron sus vidas de milagro.

This is not the first time a semi-submersible has been detected making a round trip, although it is usual for them to sink after delivering the cargo, as happened with the one in A Pobra in September. However, this newspaper had already reported exclusively on a similar case in mid-2025, when one of these devices, already empty, was sighted sailing from east to west along the northern coast of Spain, in the Cantabrian Sea.

After the shipwreck, the Gardacostas services of the Xunta de Galicia and Maritime Rescue rescued the three individuals who managed to climb onto one of the shellfish farms in the area before the Nuevo Irene –the name of the shellfish boat– sank. These individuals gave statements to the Civil Guard and were provisionally released.

At the same time, during the night, units from the Armed Institute, the National Police, and the Civil Guard were mobilized in the area in an attempt to locate the narcosubmarine that, according to suspicions, remains near the Galician coasts with the intention of delivering its valuable cargo of cocaine.

The GEAS, specialized divers from the Civil Guard, carried out several dives in the area in search of the sunken boat and clues about the semi-submersible. The search continued this Thursday.

The maneuver attempted by the three individuals who were rescued on a shellfish farm in the port of Meloxo, in O Grove, after their fishing boat sank was described as "completely suicidal" by various experts consulted by this newspaper.

Firstly, due to the cargo they were transporting, 12,000 liters of fuel, which could have caused an environmental disaster; and secondly, because of the enormous difficulty involved in a boat of such characteristics being able to carry such weight, as it is not designed for it, especially if those in command lack the necessary training.

Moreover, the conditions at the time, in darkness and amid a maritime storm, further complicated the situation, and experts assert that the three crew members miraculously saved their lives.
